DC-1200: compact fanless system with Apollo Lake Intel® Pentium® N4200 processor

Thursday, April 18, 2019

Contradata presents the new Cincoze DC-1200 fanless system based on the Intel® Pentium® N4200 quad-core processor, belonging to the recent Intel® Apollo Lake family. This system offers an excellent performance / size ratio and perfect features for harsh industrial environments.

Combining compact size and a modular design, the DC-1200 offers a variety of configuration options to suit different types of applications. The basic I/O set is very rich: 2x GbE LAN, 2x COM RS-232/422/485, 4x USB 3.0, DVI-D, DisplayPort, audio output and microphone input. Internally, an mSATA socket and a 2.5" HDD/SSD bay allow to implement two storage devices, ensuring a safe separation between the boot device, where the operating system resides, and the one dedicated to data storage.

Thanks to CMI (Cincoze Multiple I/O) and CFM (Cincoze Control Function Module) expansion modules it is then possible to add an extended series of interfaces and functions: Optically isolated digital I/O, COM RS-232/422/485, Power- over-Ethernet, Power Ignition and additional VGA, DVI-D and HDMI video outputs.

DC-1200 is a perfect solution for IoT applications, thanks to the flexibility in terms of wireless connectivity. In fact, it integrates two Mini PCI Express sockets with two redundant and externally accessible SIM cards, which allow the system to be expanded with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and LTE modules.

Like all Cincoze embedded systems, the DC-1200 is based on rugged design criteria. In fact, the system offers an extreme operating temperature range from -40 ° to + 70 ° C, high tolerance to vibrations and shocks (5/50 Grms) and is based on a "uni-body" chassis to enhance the heat dissipation. It is completely cable-free, fanless and offers a wide range power input from 9 to 48 VDC with over-voltage, over-current and reverse polarity protection. It has also passed the E-Mark certification and is a perfect solution for vehicle applications.
